The Question We Are Asked Most
Before anyone asks what FourSix46® does, they ask what the name means.
It happens in investor conversations, in supplier calls, in interviews, and in the first thirty seconds of most introductions. The name is unusual enough to stop people, and once they notice the number repeating across Route46 Couriers, Stack46 and 46Dogs, the question stops being casual. They want to know whether the pattern means something.
It does. And the reasoning behind it is more commercial than most people expect.
The Short Answer
The number comes from our founder.
In 2018, 46 was the registration number on Dinesh Koyyalamudi's Royal Enfield. It carried no significance before that — no family meaning, no numerology, nothing inherited. He liked it, and he made a decision to give it meaning through use. Over the following years the number went into every part of his life deliberately, until people stopped seeing "46" and "DC" as separate things and started seeing one identity.
By 2020, 46DC was not a handle he was promoting. It was a name other people were using for him. The full personal story is written in his own words here.
That matters for one specific reason: the identity existed before the company did.
We Did Not Invent a Name. We Inherited One.
Most founders spend months on naming. They run workshops, buy domains, test the sound of words that mean nothing yet, and then spend years and significant budget teaching a market to recognise something that started at zero.
FourSix46® did not have that problem. When the company was incorporated in London on 11 September 2025, the identity it was built on already had six years of recognition behind it.
The naming decision was therefore not creative. It was economic. There is no commercial argument for inventing a name the market has to learn when you already hold one the market recognises.
What This Actually Is: Brand Architecture
Companies generally choose one of two structures.
A house of brands runs unrelated names under a quiet parent — the model of most consumer goods conglomerates. Each brand stands alone. Each one is funded, launched and recognised independently. The parent gains diversification but no compounding recognition.
A branded house runs everything under one identity. Every venture reinforces the parent, and the parent lends credibility to every venture.
FourSix46® is a branded house, and the number is the mechanism that makes it visible. Route46 does not need to explain its relationship to the parent. Stack46 does not need a corporate endorsement line. 46Dogs does not need a paragraph clarifying who is behind it. The number does that work silently, on every sign, invoice, vehicle and interface we produce.
One identity, expanding across industries, is the entire structural thesis of this company. The number is what makes the thesis legible from the outside. We have written separately about what FourSix46® is and what we are building.
The Compounding Effect
This is the part that is easy to underestimate.
In a house of brands, launching a seventh venture means starting recognition from zero for the seventh time. Each launch carries the full cost of establishing trust with a market that has never encountered the name.
In our structure, every venture launches with something already attached to it. A customer who has used Route46 and encounters Stack46 does not start from nothing. The recognition transfers. So does the accountability.
The effect is not dramatic on venture two. It is significant by venture six, and it is the reason a parent brand structure justifies the discipline it demands.
The Constraint We Accepted
A shared identity is not free, and it would be dishonest to present it as pure advantage.
When every venture carries the same number, every venture carries the same reputation. A failure at Route46 is not contained at Route46. Poor work at Stack46 does not stay at Stack46. In a house of brands, a weak business can be quietly wound down without touching the others. In our structure, that is not possible.
We accepted that constraint on purpose.
A structure where failure is contained is also a structure where standards can drift. Tying the ventures together means the quality of each one is enforced by the existence of the others. The number is not decoration. It is a commitment device, and it removes the option of building something we would not want the parent name attached to. It is also why we are building slowly in a world that rewards speed.
Why a Number and Not a Person
There is an obvious alternative we did not take. The founder could have put his own name on the company, as founders routinely do.
We chose the number instead, for three reasons.
It travels. "46" is pronounceable in every market we intend to operate in. A surname is not. Cross-border scale was a founding assumption, not an ambition added later.
It combines. A number attaches cleanly to a category word. Route46. Stack46. 46Dogs. A surname resists that construction, which forces every venture into a longer, weaker name.
It outlasts. A company built on a person's name is structurally dependent on that person. A company built on a symbol the founder chose can eventually stand without him. That is a deliberate design choice for a business intended to operate across generations of ventures.
The System As It Stands
FourSix46 Global Ltd is the registered parent, Company No. 16712658, incorporated in London, United Kingdom in 2025. Beneath it:
- Route46 Couriers — a technology-enabled courier and delivery brand operating across the United Kingdom, built on digital-first operations.
- Stack46 — the engineering and technology layer, building scalable digital products, web platforms and AI-powered systems. More on Stack46 here.
- Cinevenn — a technology and media platform for the film industry, connecting directors, producers, writers and crew. Phase 1 launches in India. More on Cinevenn here.
- 46Dogs — the initiative that carries no business model, and never will. More on 46Dogs here.
Four ventures, four industries, one identity. Anyone who encounters any of them can trace the line back to the parent, and back to a decision made about a motorcycle registration in 2018.
What This Means for What Comes Next
The naming system is not a closed set. It is a rule we intend to keep applying.
Every venture launched under FourSix46® inherits the identity, the standard, and the accountability that comes with a shared name. That is the cost of admission, and it functions as a filter. If a venture is not something we would attach the number to, it does not get built.
The number started as a coincidence on a number plate. It became a brand through repetition. It is now the operating structure of the company, and the clearest expression of what this business is: one identity, built to expand across infinite industries.
